Action discussed. Proposed changes set out; the principal change was for the recreational area, Supervisor McKillop questioned Mr, Castleberry about Harlan Avenue, west of Oroville. A small subdivision is being proposed and curbs and gutters are being required. It was stated that exceptions. have been made in this matter. Supervisor McKillop stated it was his thought to have-curbs and gutters required adjacent to the city limits, but the subdivisions far out should not be required to construct curbs and gutters. Supervisor'McKillop's statement discussed. Supervisor Madigan felt ~cuxbs and gutters should be required in all cases. Chairman Reynolds said he would like to hear the recommendation of Public Works Director. Mr, Castleberry stated that if the County had control over parcel splits, it would have more control over the requirements. Chairman Reynolds said he does not want to see this map printed. They received 202 answers back- all varied. T'he Gridley-Herald also ran a s~:rvey; they received 170 answers back. Proposed locations for the transfer station set out. Roy Pritchard had three meetings-with property owners this past week-end< At this time, Public Works Department does not have a real co_±cise recommendation to hake. They have looked at sites all aver the proposed areas. They have talked with property owe ors on South Avenue and o~z the Freeway, They have talked with all the property owners along Railroad Avenue. They have talked with Mr, Pentacaldo, Mr. Castleberry stated that the easiest solution w®uld be for the county to deveEop the property-back of the airport, The only valid site that could be acquired would be the site by the auction yard. Mr, Castleberry sat out the alternatives in this matter. Almost all of ehe people answering the survey felt that the location should be around the railroad track°< South Avenue received more votes than the aucti®rt yard, Time spent disc+assi~g the actio.•~ the Board should ta£ce at this time. Mr. Castleberry stated that ~:he costs would be fairly close on any ®f the sites suggested. Tt has now boiled down to two sites; the auction yard site or a site along Railroad Aven°.ze. Mro Castleberry asked the Board what directio~.~. they desired him to take at this time. Chairman Reynolds stated he would like to see the Board take some action. Supervisor Madigan stated he felt the auction yard site would be the most i*.?expensive site. Time spent discussing tree sites and notion that should be taken. It was moved by Supervisor Gilman, seconded by Supervisor Madigan and unanimousi~y carried that it was the Board°s intention. to pursue the Ord-Ranch auction yard site for the propoved Biggs-Gridley transfer station, with the understanding that the operators would be deputized so that the operators could c.i.te the people who bring in-loads that are not covered.
