Welfare Department -- Board authorization is requested to purchase two desks with funds from the County's Independent Living Skills Program allocation. Welfare Department - Board authorization is requested to purchase an 8mm camcorder to be used in training sessions and workshops with funds from the County's Independent Living Program allocation. Award of bid - four one-ton cab and chassis, 4 x 4 with utility body - bids were opened for the four one-ton trucks with the low bidder being Pahl- Goodhue Ford, Orovilie in the amount of $79,215.92 - action requested - AWARD BID. 18. Floor vacuum purchase - as a budget reduction measure the janitorial contracts for the Chico and Durham Libraries have been terminated. The work will be absorbed by existing county janitorial staff, and necessary is the acquisition of a 24 inch single pass floor vacuum in the estimated amount of $1,300 - action requested - DIRECT $1,300 BE TRANSFERRED FROM HOUSEHOLD EXPENSE TO FIXED ASSETS IN THE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS BUDGET DURING BUDGET HEARINGS AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF VACUUM. Public Works equipment substitution - authorization is requested to acquire a used backhoe, two truck tailgate mounted hydraulic operated sand spreaders, and a four wheel drive vehicle. This equipment is to take the place of a second motor grader previously authorized - action requested - AUTHORIZE ACQUISITION OF SUBSTITUTE ITEMS. 20. Sheriff-Coroner - authorization is requested to acquire an 80 megabyte hard disk drive recommended in the proposed budget for the computer system in use by the Civil Division. The hard disk drive presently in use has inadequate storage capacity action requested - AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF FIXED ASSET ITEM. 21. Adoption of 1989/90 tax rates - action requested - ADOPT RESOLUTION 89-125 FIXING TAX RATES IN COUNTY OF BUTTE FOR FISCAL YEAR 1989/90 AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN. 22. County service area service charges - in order to levy charges in the various county service areas it is necessary to accomplish several prerequisite steps - action requested - DIRECT THAT THE REPORT OF SERVICE CHARGES BE PREPARED TN ACCORDANCE WITH GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 25210.77a; THAT THE REPORT BE FILED WITH THE CLERK OF THE BOARD; THAT A PUBLIC HEARING DATE BE SET FOR SEPTEMBER 12, 1989 AT 11:30 A.M.; AND DIRECT THAT PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF HEARING IN ACCORDANCE WITH GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 6066. 23. Program Beta Risk Management Authority - the Mental Health Department has participated in Program BETA for medical malpractice insurance for the previous two years.
