consideration and action.
1. Salary ordinance amendment - Personnel and Probation
previously obtained temporary changes in the salary
ordinance to provide interim staffing while
employees were on extended disability leave. The
need for these temporary changes no longer exists.
Changes were also made in the legal services
assistant classification as part of trial court
funding and similar changes are needed to properly
reflect parallel positions in the District Attorney
and County Counsel offices - action requested -

11. California Youth Authority diagnostic contract - the
contract implements Sections 704 and 3.731..6 of the
Welfare and Institutions Cade for case referrals to
the California Youth Authority from the Juvenile or
Criminal Courts for diagnostic and treatment
services and temporary detention. The contract is
in the amount of $3,120 per month and covers the
1989/90 fiscal year - action requested - APPROVE
CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN.
12. Crestwood Hospital, Inc. (Angwin facility) contract
- the contract allows for the continuation of a
placement {one bed) for a chronically mentally ill
adult as an alternative to State hospitalization.
The contract is in an amount not to exceed $18,250
and covers the period July 1, 1989 through June 30,
1990 - action requested - APPROVE CONTRACT AND
AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN.
13. Northern California Emergency Medical Services, Inc.
contract amendment - the amendment increases the
amount payable from $15,000 to $26,300 for the
1989/90 fiscal year - action requested - APPROVE
AMENDMENT AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN.
14. State Routes 70 and 99 Corridor Study, Memorandum
of Understanding - action requested - APPROVE
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND AUTHORIZE THE
CHAIRMAN TO SIGN.
15. Resolution requesting legislation to amend
Government Cade Section 70045.8 d e l e t i n g t h e
requirement to use certified shorthand reporters on
all family law matters; and amendment to Government
Code Section 70054.4 which would have the effect of
increasing revenues to the County for use of court
reporters in civil matters - action requested -
ADOPT RESOLUTION 89-133 REQUESTING INTRODUCTION OF

Tax Collector requests advancement of salary step
for a senior collector in recognition of her
contributions to the department and specifically the

18. Step advancement - supervising public health nurse -
the Public Health department recently hired a
supervising public health nurse believing that there
was blanket authorization for hiring above minimum
for all nursing classifications. In order to grant
the increase, advancement of step is necessary
