3.01 Continuation of Proclamation of Local Health Emergency - On October 18, 2017, the Butte County
Health Officer declared a local health emergency due to the debris resulting from the Cherokee and
La Porte fires that contain hazardous material in the ash and burned structures. On October 24,
2017,the Board of Supervisors reaffirmed and ratified the proclamation of a local health emergency
associated with the Cherokee and La Porte fires. State law requires that the Board of Supervisors
review the need for continuing the local emergency at least every 14 days. As cleanup of the
hazardous debris has not yet been completed, the health emergency still exists. At this point, the
final duration of the emergency has not yet been determined — action requested — ADOPT
RESOLUTION AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN. (County Administration)
Board action: Resolution No. 17-184 adopted.
