Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956, the Chair of the
Butte County Board of Supervisors called to order a Special
Meeting in the Board of Supervisors Room, County
Administration Building, 25 County Center Drive, Oroville.
Supervisors present: Beeler, Dolan, Houx, Yamaguchi, and Chair
Josiassen. Also present: Lawrence Odle, Interim Chief
Administrative Officer; Bruce Alpert, County Counsel; and
Marion Reeves, Assistant Clerk of the Board.
Pledge Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

01-387 Supervisorial Redistricting - consideration of a resolution
superceding Resolution 01-134 entitled, "A Resolution
Submitting Ordinance No. 3759 to the Voters at the
March 5, 2002, Election". The proposed superceding resolution
provides for the inclusion of language requesting the County
Clerk-Recorder consolidate the election with the state-wide
primary election to be held March 5, 2002, and includes
language that defines what the voting jurisdiction for the
issue will be - action for consideration - ADOPT RESOLUTION
AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN.
MOTION: I MOVE TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 01-139 AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO
SIGN.

1. MEDA SEALY ADDRESSED THE BOARD TO EXPRESS HER
DISAPPOINTMENT REGARDING THE CURRENT DIVISION OF THE
BOARD AND HOW THAT IS ALSO DIVIDING THE COMMUNITY.
2. BILL WILSON ADDRESSED THE BOARD REGARDING THE HIRING OF
TOO MANY LAWYERS.
3. GARY SCHALLENBURGER ADDRESSED THE BOARD REGARDING HIS
RIGHT TO VOTE, THE BOARD'S RIGHT TO VOTE, AND EVERYONE'S
RIGHT TO DISSENT.
