1. Agricultural Commissioner - unanticipated 1990/91
revenue in the amount of $34,810.98 has been
received from the State Department of Food and
Agriculture Unclaimed Gas Tax Fund. Board
authorization is requested to purchase one midsize
to full-size sedan, two compact pick-up trucks, one
two-way mobile radio-telephone, office equipment
consisting of two chairs, combination desks,
typewriter/ward processor, printer stand, bookcases,
and upgrading of the Chico office telephone system.
Budget transfer B-045 has been prepared for the
necessary appropriation - action requested -APPROVE
PURCHASE OF FIXED ASSET ITEMS.
2. Award of bid 34-92 - emergency services - the
Purchasing Office has received and opened bids for
a 4-wheel drive vehicle far emergency services. The
bids have been evaluated and the lowest bid meeting
specifications is Wittmeier Auto Center, Chico in
the amount of $17,502 plus tax for a 1992 Ford
Explorer - action requested - AWARD BID.
3. Resolution marking the 60th anniversary of the
establishment of the Butte County Fire Department -
action requested - ADOPT RESOLUTION AND AUTHORIZE
THE CHAIR TO SIGN.

4. Voice Mail System -proposals have been received and
evaluated to expand the voice mail system as a
result of increasing needs in the Welfare
Department. Four proposals were received to provide
up to 400 mail boxes and eight parts on a 36 month
lease basis, with the lowest cost proposal best
meeting the County's needs being Shasta
Communication of Redding at a total lease cost of
$54,279 - action requested - APPROVE SELECTION OF
SHASTA COMMUNICATIONS TO PROVIDE THE VOICE MAIL
SYSTEM AND AUTHORIZE THE GENERAL SERVICES DIRECTOR
TO SIGN THE AGREEMENT SUBJECT TO REVIEW BY COUNTY

5. Child Protective Services - the Omega Nu Sorority
has donated carpets, pictures, a table lamp, end
tables, a wicker chair, nesting tables, a rocker,
a changing table for babies, and assorted throw
pillows for the sofa and chairs in the total amount
of approximately $1,500 for two interview rooms at
Child Protective Services - action requested -

Budget transfer B-042 has been prepared for the

11. Award of bid 29-92 - reroofing - the Purchasing
Office has received and opened bids for reroofing
of a County building located at 2279 Del Oro Avenue.
The lowest bid meeting specifications is George's
Roofing, Oroville in the amount of $13,250 - action
requested - AWARD BID.
12. Award of bid no. 26-92 - Public Works - the
Purchasing Office has received and opened bids for
two 4-5 yard dump trucks. The bids have been
evaluated and the lowest bid meeting specifications
is F. B. Hart/Allstate of Redding in the amount of
$40, 483 each plus tax for two GMC dump trucks, model
C7H042 - action requested - AWARD BID.

13. Purchase of vehicle - Sheriff's Department -the
Purchasing Office has received quotations for the
purchase of a used 1997. vehicle, with the low bidder
meeting specifications being Hobble Chevrolet,
Oroville in the amount of $11,542.35 including tax
for a 1991 Chevrolet Lumina - action requested -
AWARD BID.
14. Purchase of vehicle - Sheriff's Department -the
Purchasing Office has received quotations for the
purchase of a used 1991 vehicle, with the low bidder

15. Sheriff's Department - Civil Division - Board

implementing the new classification of correctional
technician approved pursuant to the fiscal year
1991/92 final budget. Market analysis has been

1991/92, and Hospital Services Account for 1.991/92 -
action requested -APPROVE AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZE
THE CHAIR TO SIGN.
29. Federal Challenge Grant funds - because of the
County's demonstrated commitment to child abuse
prevention, the Welfare Department is eligible to
receive $8,945 from the Federal government (P. L. 98-
473} for fiscal year 1991/92 for enhancement of
