Butte County Jail adult education - an agreement has been prepared with the Oroville Adult School for a high school diploma and GED test preparation class for prisoners to be held at the Jail at no cost to the county. Final map - Madre De Ora Unit Number 1 - the developer has provided an irrevocable letter of credit to guarantee construction of the required improvements and installation of PGandE facilities on the 43 lot subdivision, AP 55-30-13, 23, 25, 38, 39, 63, 64 and 65, property located on the east side of Pentz Road, 3/4 mile south of Wilderness Way, Paradise area. 83-1043 Consent Agenda _1. Butte County Library Trust - in accordance with Government Code §25355 accept donation of $125 from Mrs. Dorothy E. Dawson. Action requested: ACCEPT DONATION. 2. National Orange Show - Los Angeles County Fair - a proposal has been received from Prospector Displays to build a display representing Butte County at the National Orange Show and Los Angeles County Fair in 1984 in return for premium money awarded the display. Action requested: ACCEPT PROPOSAL AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN. 3. Board of Supervisors/Grand Jury Audit - Coopers and Lybrand have requested an extension of the audit deadline for the 1982-83 fiscal audit with the deadline for submission of the audit report to January 17, 1984. Action requested: APPROVE EXTENSION AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN LETTER AGREEMENT. 4. Town of Paradise April 10, 1984 election - the Town forwards its resolution requesting specified services relating to the conduct of a general municipal election which include precinct voter registration service, loan and delivery of polling place equipment, voter signature verification, and other related services. Planning Commissioner reimbursement - out-of-county expenses far attending County Planning Commissioners Association Executive Meeting on January 14, 1984. Salary Ordinance Amendment - the Ordinance makes technical changes increasing salaries of Municipal and Superior Court Judges and establishes a welfare investigator T trainee classification for career development, and adds a management position to Public Health. Action requested: WAIVE THE SECOND READING AND ADOPT ORDINANCE 2384. 7. JTPA Vocational Education Agreement - PIC has approved the Vocational Education Program funded through the state eight percent JTPA money which involves the service delivery area and local education institutions. Cooperative agree- ments have been prepared to implement the program. Action requested: APPROVE AGREEMENTS AND AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR TO SIGN ON BEHALF OF THE COUNT'. 8. Jail facility septic system - in the amount of $2,403.71 by Backhoe (Kato-rooter) for the overflow septic system at the problems. Butte County Fair budget- the Secretary-Manager submits the Fair budget as approved by the Board of Directors for calendar year 1984 in the amount of $321,281 with an $18,289 capital outlay fund. Action requested: AUTHORIZE CAA TO OPERATE THE HEAD START PROGRAM PENDING RECEIPT OF GRANT AWARD AND AUTHORIZE THE AUDITOR TO PAv EXPENSES, 13, Community Action Agency - Amendment 1 to Contract 83-812- 1006 - the State Office of Economic Opportunity has re- quested the CAA to agree to an amended beginning date for the Food Bank Expansion Project which would increase staff to handle donated food. Amended commencement date is December 19, 1983, and Board authorization to advance spending under the contract is necessary. Action requested: APPROVE CONTRACT AMENDMENT 1 AND AUTHORIZE ADVANCE SPENDING. 14. Community Action Agency - Contract No. 83-846-307 with the State Office of Economic Opportunity has been prepared in the amount of $49,929 to provide weatherization services to a minimum of 50 low income homes in the county. Action requested: ACCEPT CONTRACT, AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN, AND AUTHORIZE ADVANCE SPENDING UPON RECEIPT OF A COMPLETED CONTRACT. 15. Appointment of John J. Monroe, Disabled American Veterans Post No, 106 delegate, and John Powers, alternate; and, James Hurst, VFW Post No. 2039 delegate, and Theodore Juhos, alternate, to the Paradise Memorial Hall Commiettee to serve until December 20, 1984.
