C,gLIFpRNIA RE: Referendum Against Butte County Ordinance 4029: Transmittal of Petition BookletslSignatures Dear honorable members of the Board of Supervisors and CAOICIerk of the Board Hahn: My client, Citizens for Compassionate Use, the political action committee which sponsored a referendum petition drive against Burke County Ordinance 4029, an ordinance ofthe County of Butte your Board adopted an May 24, 2011, entitled AN ORDINANCE DF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE ADDINGARTICLEI; ENTITLED "MEDICAL MARIJUANA CULTIVATION, "OFCHAPTER 34A, ENTITLED "MEDICAL MARIJUANA CULTIVATION, " OF THE BUTTE COUNTY CDDE, transmits to your Board herewith, in order to file with the Clerk of your Board, the petition booklets/signatures gathered, pursuant to Elections Cade section 9144. The petition booklets transmitted herewith have been prepared in compliance with Elections Code section 9147. The entirety ofthe signatures gathered, which appear on the front and back pages of the petition booklets transmitted herewith, are filed today in one group, in petition booklets which are intact, in compliance with Elections Code section 9113. My client requests that Mr. Hahn provide a receipt to Citizens for Compassionate Use and transmit the petition booklets/signatures to Butte County Elections, in order that Butte County Elections can verify the signatures transmitted herewith, pursuant to relevant Elections Code provisions.
