Hazard Abatement Complaint Process DATE.• July 22, 2013 ~~`~$ fv~ z ~ z~t3 -VFId,~~ ~+4ifF~11~ With your approval of immediate interim steps to re-establish the hazard abatement program utilizing Butte County Code Section 38a, the following is the process for forwarding complaints to the fire department: Advise the complainant to contact the Butte County Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau at 538-78$8 or; Accept the complaint and forward the information to the following email addresses: matt.dainon cr)fire.ca. 7ov and ~eor >e.Fnorris cr)fre.ca. rov Appropriate action will be taken after researching the nature of the complaint and determining whether to abate or document the issue. At a minimum all complaints will be recorded, researched for property owner and added to the database for action during next year's cycle. The minimum information we need to research a complaint is the street address or a good description of the property in question. For example, "the lot on the NE corner of the intersection of 1 S~ St and Oak Ave." Other information such as the complainant's phone number maybe helpful as well. As we get deeper into the summer abatement of a complaint may be more dangerous than leaving it until next spring. That determination will be made on a case by case basis. At a minimum, all caseslproperties meeting the descriptions within Chapter 38a will be researched and recorded for inclusion and notification during the 2014 process.
