Dear Merit Clients& Friends;
it is with a heavy heart that we are being forced, as so many other healthcare providers
are,to discontinue our LogistiC:are and MediCal service effective Sunday,February 21,
1116. You Wray vvigh to continue having Merit transport you on a private basis and the
uffice staff will be glad to discuss cost and payment options.
Abs you well know, the current MediC'ael program has cut providers for the last several
years while the asst of doing business continues to grow. We have also attempted to
negotiate an acceptable rate with LogistiCare moving forward,however,,with no success.
In 201.5,:Merit lost over 5217,000 between og stiCare and.Mi ediCal transports and this is
forcing us to make this decision. Over the past three years we have looked at ways to
streamline our operations and attempted to grow the private side of our business.However,
two minimum wage increase,the Affordable Care Act potential mandates,maandatoq sick
leave programa,and other regulatory implementations have put us in. an awful position for
the future, With the current legislative atmosphere,healthcare providers will not be ieting
legislative relief to increase reimbursement rates in the near future.
I want to thank you for the opportunity to serge you for all these years,As I stated earlier,
