Yoe: conta4,ted rnv office earlier this year to convey the Bnard's sunl?ort of Senate Bilk 191
(Padilla}, a bill that extends a local assessment for emergency medical services including
pediatric trauma care. I am pleased to have the opportunity to update you on the status of this
legislation.
SB 191 passed the full Senate with my support on May 6 by a vote of 33-1. The bill
subsequently passed the full Assembly on July 1 and has been returned to the Senator for
concurrence with Senate amendments. Should the amendments be acceptable, the bill may be on
the Governor's desk for his consideration in the near future.
If you are interested in tracking the progress of the bill, you can access the bill text, status,
analyses and vote records from my Senate homepage at www,se~l.ca,~ov/Nielsen.
As always, I appreciate having the benefit of your perspective and urge you to contact my office
directly whenever my staff or I may be of service.
Sincerely, - ~
K ~~~
