The Board of. Supervisors of the County 'of Butte, State of California, do ordain as follows: That Ordinance No. 375, Ordinance No. 378, and Ordinance No. 380 be, and each of them is hereby repealed. I This Ordinance shall take effect thirty, days after its passage, and be- fore the expiration of fifteen days after its passage it shall be published, with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in some newspaper published in the County of Butte. XI, of the Constitution of the State of California, a petition signed by ten (10) percentum of the qualified electors if I of the County of. Butte, State of California, computed upon the total number of votes cast in said County for all candidates for Governor at the last general election at wvhich-.a. Governor was elected, was filed in the office of the County Clerk of the County of Butte, State of California, on January 15, 1945, petitioning the Board of Supervisors thereof to submit the hereinafter referred to proposed amendments to the Charter of the County of Butte, State of California, to the qualified electors thereof, and WHEREAS, such petition was forthwith examined and certified by the County Clerk;; under date of January 29, 1945, as being signed by a requisite number of qualified electors of said County of Butte, State of California, and thereafter, and on said 29th day of January', 1945, presented to the Board .of. Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, by said County Clerk, and RHEREAS, pursuant to resolution of the Board of Supervisors ..of, .the. County of Butte, State -of California, dated January 29, 1945, passed and adopted in conformity with the provisions of. Section 71, Article XI of the Constitution of the. State of California, said proposed amendments to the Charter of the County of Butte were published for ten, -times in the IfOroville Mercury Register", a daily newspaper of general Circulation, printed, published and circulated in -Said County of Butte, to--;pit: on the 30th and 31st ,days of January, 1945, and on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, Sth, 9th and 10th days of February, 1945; and, ;WHEREAS, no general election will occur in said County of Butte .not less than 30 days nor more than 60 days after the publication of said proposed Charter amendments as aforesaid ; NON THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, does ordain as follows: Section 1. That it is hereby ordered that a special election be held, and the same is hereby called, and: shall be held throughout the County of Butte, State of California, on the 20th day of March, 1945, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of said County of Butte, the said proposed amendments to the Charter of the County of Butte, State of California, pursuant to the provisions of Section 7x. The sum of $13,998.71 per annum, payable in equal monthly or less frequent installments as Board shah: require., for a period of 30 years, on account of the liability_'for benefits based on service rendered to City prior to the effective date hereof. b. 5.725 per cent .of total salaries paid by City each month to its employees who are members of said Retirement System, provided that only salary earned as members of said System shall be included in said total salaries, and that employees who are members of said System shall incoude employees who become members .upon the effective date hereof and employees who become members thereafter.. c. A. reasonable amount as fixed by Board, payable.,in equal month- ly or less frequent installments, as Board shall require, to cover the costs of administering said System as it affects the employees of City, not including the costs of special valuations or of the periodical investigation and valuation re- quired by lair, .provided that said amotint shall not exceed 2.00. per fiscal year per member, on the basis of the number of employees of City who are members .on July 1st of the respective fiscal years, or with respect to the first year of participation, on the effective date of said participation. d. A reasonable amount as fixed by the Board, payable in .one in- stallment from time to time as the occasions arise, to cover the costs of special valucatio.ns. on account of employees of City and the. costs of the periodical in- vestigation into the experience under said Retirement System, as it- affects said employees, and the valuation of the assets and liabilities .-of said System on account of said employees. i Contributions required of City and its employees shall -be..subject to adjustment by the Board of Administration on account of amendments to the-State Employees' Retirement Act, and on account of experience under the Retirement System, as determined by the periodical investigation, valuation and determination provided for by said Retirement Act. ;' Q. Contributions required of City under paragraph 5 immediately preceding, and contributions required of City' s employees who are members of said System, shall be paid by City to the .State Employees' Retirement System within thirty days after the end of the month or longer period to which said contributions refer. If more or less than the `€.` correct amount of contribution required of City or its employees is paid for any period, proper adjustment shall be made in connection with subsequent remittances of the City to the Board, to rectify the errors; or such adjustments on account of errors made in contributions required ';; of employees, may be made by direct cash payments between the employee in connection with whom the error was made,and Board.
