Dear Butte County Official:
I am writing to interested parties on behalf of Senator Jim Nielsen to let you know of an upcoming oversight hearing at
the Capitol regarding the Oroville Dam incident.
On Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 9:30 in the State Capitol Room 4203,there will be an oversight hearing with the
Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee and the Joint Legislative Committee on Emergency Management.This
will be the beginning of a legislative inquiry and they will be discussing what happened at the Oroville Dam and
preparing for what is next.
A portion of the meeting is allocated for public comment and the Senator encourages you to please attend this meeting
and share the experiences you had during this ordeal.We know you care about accountability and your input is crucial in
making sure the voices of Butte County are heard as this moves forward.
Please feel free to email or call me directly if you have any questions. I want to make sure your stories are heard. I have
attached a copy of the draft agenda for the hearing.
