Dear Supervisors Bill Connelly, Larry Wahl, Maureen Kirk, Steve Lambert and Kim Yamaguchi
I was born in San Francisco but when I was only two months old my mother moved my brother and me back to her hometown of Durham. After kindergaten in Durham, I
attended elementary school, junior high, and high school in Chico. 1 graduated with my bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from CSUC and received my masters from the
University of San Francisco. I am a licensed psychotherapist with an office in downtown Chico and I am also part-time faculty at Bufte College where I have bulb counseled
and taught various subjects since 1999.
I am extremely concerned about the curren# troubles the Goddess Temple is experiencing regarding being denied a use permit. It is unfathomable to me, the idea that Butte
County Planning Commission would even consider shutting down such an exceptional venue Fhat serves as an incredible asset to not only the Chico and Forest Ranch
communities, but to a wide range of Butte County residents.
Have you personally experienced this beautiful and resourceful facility? If you haven't, please do because you are missing out on something truly exceptional. I have
attended approximately 4D functions there over the years-music events, weddings, art camps for children, private celebrations, memorial services, business functions, yoga
classes, dances, and meditation workshops to name a few. 1've brought my children and grandchildren to the goddess temple. l've hiked the land and swam in the pool I've
connected with old friends, made new friends, communed with nature, and prayed to my God in this sacred place.
1 implore you to be do whatever is in your power to protect the Goddess Temple from closing, to help it remain a thriving and vibrant community center, a temple that
welcomes all faiths, all peoples, with Love and open arms.
The Goddess Temple needs our support. ]t has mine. As and elected official serving the people of Butte County, I hope it has your support also. Please don't let us dawn in
this struggle to preserve a wondefful fixture in our community that was butt with heart and soul, to serve us alt.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
Sincerely,
Adrienne Parker-Murano
