I recently appeared in front of the Council on March 1, 2011 to make public comment on behalf of Citizen Collective in
support of the City of Chico's efforts to adopt a sensible ordinance to regulate medical marijuana dispensaries. My
clients look forward to working in partnership with Butte County in the future to discuss the important issues pertaining
to providing safe access to medical marijuana for patients in Butte County.
Unfortunately, our office has recently fielded numerous press inquiries pertaining to an incident that occurred in the
lobby of City Hall on March 1, 2021 immediately prior to the Council taking up agenda item 4.4, i.e. the proposed
ordinance to regulate medical marijuana dispensaries. Apparently a citizen in the lobby, unconnected in any way to our
firm or our client, Citizen Collective, contacted the media and described an incident observed in the lobby involving an
alleged altercation between Max Del Real of California Capito! Solutions and District Attorney Ramsey in which Mr.
Ramsey was described as the alleged aggressor.
Our firm issued the attached press release regarding the incident and we thought it appropriate to share with members
of the Board, before whom these similar issues might arise in the future, since it was being publicly released.
