Menchaca, Clarissa From: BCWater Sent: Wednesday, September 20, 2017 2:21 PM To: BCWater Subject: Public Meeting: Groundwater Recharge Potential within Butte County Attachments: Recharge Project Agenda 09252017.pdf Please Join Butte County Department of Water and Resource Conservation for an Interactive Discussion: Groundwater Recharge Potential Within Butte County Monday, September 25, 2017 from 1:00 — 3:00 PM Butte County Fairgrounds In 2014, the California legislature passed the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), which was, signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown. This legislation triggers a more intense and hands on approach to groundwater management at the local level and requires cooperation and participation by all water users. This legislation has the potential to affect everyone who uses water, the local economy, as well as the environment. In response to increased regulation of groundwater, Butte County and the Department of Water Resources are sponsoring a study entitled: EVALUATION OF RESTORATION AND RECHARGE POTENTIAL WITHIN THE GROUNDWATER BASINS OF BUTTE COUNTY This study has been conducted by GEI Consultants, Davids Engineering, Land IQ, ERA Economics and Butte County staff. Staff and Consultants will present some preliminary results of the project.
