NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given by the Butte County Board of Supervisors that a public hearing will be held
on Tuesday, August 14, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room, County
Administration Building, 25 County Center Drive, Oroville, for the consideration, and possible
adoption of a redistricting proposals. Election Code 21500 states, "in establishing the boundaries
of the districts the board may give consideration to the following factors: (a) topography, (b)
geography, (c) cohesiveness, contiguity, integrity, and compactness of territory, and (d) community
of interest of the districts." The above list is not exclusive and other comments on redistricting may

Following the census, state and federal law require the county board of supervisors to adjust
supervisorial district boundaries, if needed, to equalize population. These adjustments will
determine the district within which a citizen votes beginning with the March 5, 2002 Primary
Election and continuing to 2011, when new census data is available.
Members of the public wishing to send written comments should send them to: Candace Grubbs,
Butte County Clerk-Recorder-Registrar of Voters, 25 County Center Drive, Oroville, CA 95965.
