Attached is a vacancy notice for the LAB. A member from the Paradise area, Pat Brice has resigned. A copy of her
resignation letter is attached. Due to the 10-working day noticing requirements, the first BOS meeting at which an
appointment can be made for this seat will be the November 5 meeting.
This notice is posted at 25 Co. Center, and I will be forwarding copies of the attached to the library for posting in the all
branches.

The Butte County Board of Supervisors is hereby giving notice of a vacancy on the Butte
County Library Advisory Board due to a resignation of a member from the Paradise
area. The Board of Supervisors may consider making an appointment to fill this vacancy
on or after October 25, 2013. The term of this appointment ends December 31, 2014.
The committee consists of 10 members appointed by the Board of Supervisors.
Information concerning the duties and responsibilities of this board is on file with the Clerk
of the Board at 25 County Center Drive, Suite 200, Oroville, CA and is also available on the

For many years, it has been a privilege for me to serve as a member of the Butte County Library Advisory
Board. As far back as Nancy Brower and her crew,the position has allowed me to learn much about the
system's management teams,the six library branches, and the dedicated personnel who staff them.
Along the way, I've met some wonderful volunteers, many of them"cohorts"on the advisory board.
However, recurring health problems necessitate my cutting back on many activities. As of October 9,
2013, I am submitting my resignation as a member of the Butte County Library Advisory Board. I will
genuinely miss seeing all of you.
