This letter is to advise you that, with Shirley Lewis' request for leave after eleven yes of
service, the Landowner Representative, for Butte County on the Sacramento River Conservation
Area Forum (SRCAF) Board of Directors, is currently vacant. The term is two-years, beginning
January 1, 2011. The Landowner Representative, shall, according the SRCAF bylaws, "reside
on, own, or manage property in, or adjoining the Conservation area within the county that
appoints the representative." The organization allows an alternate appointment to also be made.
The Alternate shall meet the same requirements as the Director, and serves in place of the
Director when the Director is unavailable.
John Nock, has expressed interest in serving as the Landowner Representative, and has our
Board's support for appointment. Your past Alternate Landowner Representative, Les Hering~r,
has requested reappointment.
The Mission Statement of the Sacramento River Conservation Area Forum states:
The Sacramento River Area Conservation Area Forum was established to coordinate
implementation of the 1989 Plan and Handbook by bringing communities, individuals,
organizations, and agencies together along the Sacramento River from Keswick to Verona to
make resource management and restoration efforts more effective and sensitive to the needs of
local communities. The Forum supports restoration done well and serves as a forum for sharing,
a facilitator of solutions, and partner for projects that protect both the natural values of the
Sacramento River and the communities it runs through.
We ask that your Board make these appointments at your March, 2011 meeting. Please let us
