BOX 1420 • QUINCY, CA 95971 Clerk of the Board Board of Supervisors, Butte County 25 County Center Dr Oroville, CA 95948 April 16, 2011 Honorable Supervisors, ~~ ~~ , ~~ ~~~ APR ~ ~ ~ ~Q11 OROV(~~, Cq[.dFpRNlq On behalf of the Bucks Lake Snow Drifters we the board would like to commend you in your support of SAC (Sierra Access Coalition} and others to protect the public's access to our forests. As you know snowmobiles are considered off highway vehicles and we are concerned that any effort to decrease access to those roads will eventually affect us. Our snowmobile club is a member of the California Nevada Snowmobile Association, we have a membership of about 104 and we work closely with Dept of Parks and Recreation and US Forest Service to provide all the volunteers that groom the Bucks Lake area. We put on an annual Poker Run that usually attracts 200 attendees and we are in close contact with the Bucks Lake Fire Dept. for winter rescues. In these complicated times we appreciate your efforts to keep public access to the forest. If there is any way that we may help please let us lmow. ~`~ LaTroy Justeson, Secretary Bucks Lake Snow Drifters
