NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING/WORKSHOP
Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956, the Butte County Board
of Supervisors does hereby call a Special Meeting as follows:

4.01 Supervisorial Redistricting workshop - pursuant to
Board direction of April 23, 2002, a workshop will be
conducted for the consideration of possible
alternatives for the redistricting of Butte County
supervisorial districts. The workshop will include the
manipulation of district and population data utilizing
a computerized Geographic Information System.
California Election Code 21500 states that in
establishing the boundaries of the districts the board
may give consideration to the following factors: (a)
topography, (b) geography, (c) cohesiveness,
contiguity, integrity, and compactness of territory,
(d) community of interest of the districts, and (e)
voter deferral. The above list is not exclusive and
other comments on redistricting may be submitted for
consideration - action requested - CONDUCT WORKSHOP
AND PROVIDE STAFF DIRECTION AS NEEDED. (COUNTY CLERK
