HomeMy WebLinkAboutStohlman letter May 2, 2011 BUTTE COUNTY CODE Dear Supervisors of Districts 1-5: I was informed of the meeting that was held at the Durham Library on April 27, 2011 regarding the proposed Marijuana attend the meeting but I am interested in some input to the Ordinance. My husband and I built our home outside the City of Gridley at 1568 Bond Lane in the year 1989. At the time we built it, Bond Lane was a very quiet short dead end street that had just a handful of residents living on it. Last year we were faced with two Marijuana growers on our street: one at the entrance to Bond Lane from East Gridley Road and the other grower at the south end of the street. the time the plants are maturing and during the cultivation periods. The smell of the plants is overwhelming. We can no longer enjoy being outside for a friendly barbeque, working in our yard or visiting with out friends on the street. The traffic becomes so steady during the cultivation period that we are afraid of leaving our grandchildren in the yard. Our neighbors with children cannot let their children play or ride their bicycles in the street for fear of placing them in harms way. I believe the 1000 feet that you have proposed is not sufficient enough. There should be a greater space between residential homes and Marijuana plants. Perhaps the growing of Good residential living conditions should never be impeded or compromised by the smelly odoriferous cultivation of Marijuana plants. Sincerely, Barbara Stohlman, P.O.
