Generally speaking emergency response is returning to a more typical pattern although we are still experiencing some storm related type events such as hazardous condition -power lines down. The biggest potential issue currently is the extreme cold, icy road conditions and the potential for trees and limbs when frozen to break under the weight of snow. However, the storm subsiding earlier then expected yesterday afternoon allowed much of the snow to fall from trees and with today's warming (if you can call it that) and gentle wind more snow should come down reducing the potential. Many of or stations are on generator power including Stirling City, Harts Mill (Berry Creek) and Robinson Mill {Forbestown}. All facilities are staffed including Station 22 Cohasset. We will likely down staff the Cohasset station this evening if all remains as expected. We are also providing a bull dozer and operator at the request of Brian Graves from Public Works starting a little later this morning to assist in snow removal in the Stirling City to Inskip area. This operation is expected to take 2 days. As a follow-up to a couple of items khat occurred yesterday 1 have the following information. Fortunately the damage to our Jarbo Gap station as a result of a tree in to the apparatus bay was not as bad as it could have been, limited mostly to the eve area with a couple of holes in the roof. The facility is still in operation with some temporary repairs, long term repairs will come later from CAL F1RE. E33 from the Upper Ridge station was successfully removed from a ditch in Paradise late yesterday morning by a heavy tow truck. The engine traveling slaw and with automatic chains engage had to maneuver to the side of Pentz road to avoid art oncoming 2wd drive car that was experiencing traction problems forcing the engine in to the ditch. There was no permanent damage to the engine.
