NOTICE OF PETITION FOR TEMPORARY CHANGE
INVOLVING THE TRANSFER OF UP TO 6,000 ACRE-FEET OF WATER
FROM PLUMAS MUTUAL WATER COMPANY
TO STATE WATER CONTRACTOR AGENCIES UNDER
LICENSE 7296 (APPLICATION 480)
On April 5, 2018, Plumas Mutual Water Company (PMWC) filed a petition for temporary change
with the State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Water Rights, to transfer up to
6,000 acre-feet of water pursuant to California Water Code section 1725 et seq., under water
right License 7296 (Application 480). PMWC proposes to transfer the water from May through
September 2018 to four State Water Contractor Agencies: Dudley Ridge Water District,
Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Kern County Water Agency, and Palmdale
Water District. The transfer water would be made available at proposed additional point of
diversion and point of rediversion by groundwater substitution for surface water under PMWC's
License 7296. The proposed transfer would include the following changes to PMWC's License
7296: (1) add the State Water Project's Harvey O. Banks Pumping Plant as a point of diversion,
(2) add San Luis Reservoir as a point of rediversion, (3) add a portion of the State Water
Project's service area as an additional place of use, and (4) add municipal, industrial, and
domestic purposes of use.

Pursuant to California Water Code section 1726(f), any interested parry may file a comment
regarding the petition. Comments filed in response to this notice should be submitted to
the persons listed below and must be received by 4:30 p.m. on May 16, 2018.
