Subject: Zoning Ordinance Board packet ...part 1 coming to you soon
Dear Board Members:
We are preparing information for you for the Dec 6t" Special Meeting to review Draft #3 of the new Zoning
Ordinance. As you know, this was reviewed and worked over in great detail by the Planning Commission for
14 meetings. In the spirit of `full disclosure' of our process to date, we will be providing you a CD with all of the
information from all of these meetings (this information is also an our website at
http:Ilwww.buttegeneralgian.net ). It will include the following:
1) Staff Reports
2) Attachments
3) Public Comments received at each meeting
4) Summary Notes of each meeting
This totals over 800 pages of information. For efficiency, we will be sending each of you a CD on Monday
to give you plenty of time to review as much information as you would like. The CD will include a breakdown of
each document per meeting AND also a document that combines all of the information into one PDF. A major
benefit of the CD is that you can search far specific people ar issues that are of interest to you and be taken
directly to them for your review.
The basic meeting plan is this:
December 6t", 9 am until 5 pm -Review of the Text of Draft #3 of the new Zoning Ordinance. We will highlight
several areas for Board 'check in'Idirection and also have time for specific areas of interest by your Board. We
will not be focusing on Map issues that day. My guess is that this will take all day.
December 13'", 1 pm until 5 pm -- Review of Zoning Map issues. We will highlight the recommendations from
the Planning Commission and requests of the pubic. Many of the public requests (those consistent with the
General Plan} are going to be incorporated into Draft #3 of the Zoning Map. We will provide an efficient review
method similar to previous Map Reviewsldiscussions with your Board.
As for Draft #3 of the Zoning Ordinance Text and Map, DC&E is putting the finishing touches on the
documents. We hope to provide review of an Admin Draft next week. As soon as we receive the final Draft
#3, we will forward it (clean copy and tracked changes copy) electronically to you and follow up with a printed
clean copy ASAP.
