BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Butte County Board of Supervisors is hereby giving notice of a vacancy on the Butte
County Library Advisory Board, Oroville Member as the result of a resignation. The
Board of Supervisors may consider making an appointment to fill this vacancy on or after
December 3, 2016. The term of this appointment ends December 31, 2017.
The board consists of 10 members appointed by the Board of Supervisors as follow& four
(4) members from the Chico area; two (2) members from the Oroville area; two (2)
members from the Paradise area, one (1) member from the Gridley/ Biggs area; and, one
(1) member from the Durham area. Currently, the Butte County Library Advisory Board
is seeking to fill one of the two seats comprised of members from the Oroville area.
The Library Advisory Board is created for the following purposes: to update and annually
maintain a strategic plan for the Butte County Library, to develop and maintain a long-
range library financial plan; to provide an annual statement report on the state of the library
for the past year, to re-energize the Butte County Libraries Foundation and develop fund-
raising plans for the Board of Supervisors' approval; to oversee the development of
relationships with community partners, such as schools and businesses- to advise the
Board of Supervisors on issues and trends impacting the library; to monitor technology that
will affect the operation of the library and provide guidance to the Board of Supervisors;
and, to develop and oversee public relations campaigns in support of the library.
