Dear Supervisor Bill Connelly,
Thank you for your service on behalf of the citizens of Butte County. Our family appreciates your time and
study of issues brought before our County Board of Supervisors.
Recently it was brought to our attention the proposal and enactment of a Medical Marijuana Cultivation
Ordinance. We would respectfully request this ordinance not be approved as written.
We live in the unicorporarated area of the county where marijuana is grown. In the past few years there has
been an increase of theft, foot traffic and loitering in our area. The county's financial position limits monitoring
of current regulations. This new ordinance will not only increase the burden on law enforcement but enables
marijuana production to be unenforceable in the county's weakened state.
We sincerely hope that more time wil! be granted to strengthen the proposed ordinance before it is
adopted.
