Eligible new water storage projects include: Surface storage projects identified in the CALFED Record of Decision,groundwater storage projects,groundwater contamination Taryn Ravazzini prevention or remediation projects,conjunctive use projects,reservoir reoperation Acting executive Officer projects,and local and regional surface storage projects that improve theoperation of water systems in the state. To further assist applicants,the Commission has created a webpage that provides information and resources about the WSIP application,schedule,and process: https://cwc.ca.gov/Pages/ApplicationResources.aspx The Commission recently announced that starting March 14,2017,proponents of new water storage projects in California may submit applications for funding of public benefits under the WSIP,which implements Proposition 1,Chapter 8. Proposition 1 --the Water Quality,Supply,and Infrastructure Improvement Act--a$7.5 billion water bond for investments in the state's water management systems,includes$2.7 billion for public benefits related to new water storage projects in Chapter 8. Those public benefits include ecosystem improvements,water quality improvements,flood control,emergency response,and recreation. For more information,contact Commission staff at CWC@water.ca.gov
