Subject: Water issues at Cancow Elementary School
Hello all:
During a routine water test done by Concave Elementary School in the last two days, the water test showed
positive for total and fecal soli form in the water. Based an those results the school notified parents and
instituted use of bottled water. Additionally we worked with the school to establish hand washing stations to
further decrease any risk of contaminates if they were present.
We have not had reports of a large number of ill children or staff in the school, and the one child we have had
reported as ill has had samples submitted to both a clinical and our public health lab to determine if the illness
could be related to the water test results. We will have those results early next week. We have had the State
Public Health Department Small Water system staff person working with us on the case and have our
Environmental Health and Communicable Disease division working with the school and with the State.
