HomeMy WebLinkAboutB19-3343 CF Setback Variance Request September 15,2019 Chris Boyd Fire Captain Cal Fire—Butte County Fire Department 176 Nelson Ave Oroville,CA 95965 RE:Ag Storage Building—APN 041-430-036 Set Back Variance Request Mr.Boyd, Please consider my request to provide a variance to the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protections SRA Fire Safe Regulations section 1276.01.Attached is a proposed site plan providing additional detail to clarify the requested variance. Due to the topography and the elevation,it makes it very hard on this property to find a location that would service the needs of the project.The other prospective locations would require cost prohibitive removal of sandstone and granite to provide a level site.The only prospective fire hazard is dry grass.We were able to save all of our structures during the Camp Fire.We are well aware of what it takes to mitigate any fire danger and will continue this in the future. Section 1276.01 states that for parcels 1 acre and larger,a minimum 30 foot setback for building and accessory buildings is required.Unfortunately,due to the restrictions note above,that would limit the buildable area significantly. I do thoroughly understand and have great appreciation for defensible space and will ensure that this proposed variance does not present ad additional fire hazard or risk.
