Subject: Request for minor change to the Use Permit for the Tuscan Ridge Golf Course (UP 99-10)
-Use of Yurt structure for winter storage
This letter is being written to address your request for a minor change to the Tuscan Ridge Golf Course Use Permit.
Staff has assessed this request and is authorizing the use of 1 yurt structure for storage purposes as described in the
materials provided to me and placed within the Tuscan Ridge Golf Course Use Permit file. This approval is
conditioned upon the temporary use of this facility for the purposes described, not to exceed 180 days from your
receipt of this letter. In addition, Planning Division staff must be provided with information relative to the design
and construction of the administrative building as soon as they are available, but no later than 45 days, to ensure that
progress is being made to comply with the development of more permanent facilities at the golf course.
The California Department of Forestry indicates that the structure meets their requirements provided that it is only
used for storage. The Butte County Building Division indicates that the yurt is permitted at the discretion of the
Chief Building Official, and that it must be provided with handicap access. However, any use of the yurt structure
as a permanent facility or as a facility that is permanently occupied by employees or the public is not permitted
without additional review by the Planning Division.
I hope that this approval will assist the Tuscan Ridge Golf Course in achieving its operational goals. Please be
advised that this approval does not replace the need for the permanent facilities as described within the Use Permit
for the Golf Course.
