HomeMy WebLinkAbout9.24.19 PSPS Update - McCracken, Shari Waugh, Melanie From: McCracken, Shari Sent: Tuesday, September 24, 2019 6:57 PM To: BOS Cc: Ring, Brian Subject: PSPS Update Board Members, Brian's report out on the 5:30 call with PG&E shows how disorganized PG&E continues to be. According to PG&E, they've been trying to limit the scope of impacts of these PSPS and there have been a high number of changes on the fly as they continue to assess the weather conditions. This is their reasoning behind confusing information and changes with no warning. The next PSPS is expected to begin around 1:00-2:00 AM Wednesday morning, with concerning winds hitting around 4:00 AM. They anticipate the wind event will end around 10:00 AM. • They will do one more assessment (weather review) prior to initiating a PSPS Wednesday morning. • New maps will be uutASAP/withim the hour. * PG&E expects 48,000 customers will be impacted by the Wednesday event in Butte, Placer, Plumas, Sonoma, Vuba, Lake, El Dorado, Napa and a number of other counties. o The impact in Butte County is expected to affect 23,000 customers, in the same footprint as Monday night and expanding to an area north of Paradise (including Magalia) and up to the Tehama County line. • PG&E is still confirming whether or not it will impact County buildings at County Center. • Medical baseline customers notifications have been started for the early morning event on Wednesday. * CRC's closed at 6:00 pm tonight and will reopen at 8:00 AM tomorrow. 32 residents went to the Magalia CRC and 15 to Oroville. There will be another update at 7:00 tonight. As soon as we get confirmation on impact to County facilities, I'll send an update. Have a good evening, Shari 1
