REMOVAL OF HAZARD TREES IN BUTTE CREEK CANYON TO BEGIN SEPTEMBER 30,2019
Butte County, Ca—The Butte County Department of Public Works is responsible for removing hazard trees within the
Public Right-of-Way as part of the Camp Fire recovery effort. A contract has been awarded to Bay Area Tree Specialists
for removal of hazard trees along the Public Right-of-Way in Butte Creek Canyon, including Honey Run Road and
Centerville Road.Tree removal work will be performed with the assistance of Biological Monitoring by Area West
Environmental, and Debris Monitoring by Tetra Tech.
Removal of hazard trees along Honey Run Road and Centerville Road will begin at the north end of Honey Run Road on
September 30, 2019 and is expected to continue through November 20, 2019. Hazard tree removal will consist of tree
cutting, chipping on site when possible, and removal of surplus material.
Motorists traveling through the area are encouraged to use caution. Temporary lane closures will be required to
complete the removal of hazard trees, and the north end of Honey Run Road will remain closed through the tree
removal process.
