I would like to remind the Supervisors that in a 2017 Butte County Groundwater Status Report, "Overall
hydrographs indicate that groundwater levels in the California Water Service area of the Chico Urban Area Sub-
Inventory Unit generally declined 10-20 feet between 1988 and 2017.”
I feel this downward trend will continue, especially in light of the influx of dislocated Paradise residents moving to
Chico in the aftermath of the Camp Fire.
As a Chico domestic well water user, owner of 4 burned out Paradise lots previously dependent on PID for
domestic water, and Chairman of the Butte County Water Commission, I feel compelled to urge the BOS to
approve funding supporting the PID/Cal Water Intertie Feasibility Study.
