HomeMy WebLinkAboutMISC18-0013 Emergency Site Plan and MapWHEELS & WINGS September 8, 2018 Paradise Airport EMERGENCY PLAN EMERGENCIES • Verify if emergency is major or minor. • Major emergencies call 9-1-1. Defined as emergencies that are life threatening and time critical, such as heart attacks, loss of consciousness, profuse bleeding, or fire. After calling 911 call Operations. • Note: all areas are equipped with cell phones. Minor emergencies call the Event Chair, Dana Gajda cell phone 307-214-2355. These constitute most emergencies including sprained ankles, bumps, bruises. When reporting an emergency you should answer all questions as concisely as possible: • State your name and title • Give the site name and location of emergency • Provide a brief overview of the situation. • Give the operator your cell phone number • Wait for the operator to hang up first • Keep your cell phone line open. In the event of an emergency, assign volunteers/staff to keep emergency entrances clear and secured for emergency service providers. Keep entrance at 2500 Estes Rd open and clear, be ready to direct service providers to proper location. If possible secure names and contact info of those involved and any witnesses. First Aid There will be a first aid area located next to the Airport Clubhouse. Staff from Butte County Search and Rescue will be available to provide first aid. Weather Plan We will work directly with the Airport Manager in monitoring weather. In those cases of severe weather or heavy rain with lightning the weather info will be given to the Airport Manager and Event Chair. When there is a threat of inclement weather, a determination will be made to postpone or cancel any festival activities by these individuals. Public announcements will be made to attendees (For all emergencies) Lost Children Parents and guardians of lost children should be instructed to report to the Airport office. Found children must ,be escorted to the Airport office. In the event of any reported missing child or parent secure names, description, age, type of clothing worn or any other distinguishing characteristics. Announcements about lost children will be made over the public address sound system. Fire Plan No smoking policy will be enforced at all times. Stage Area; AIB/C rated fire extinguishers will be located in and around the stage area. They will be clearly marked and easily available. This is a no smoking event. No campfires or barbecues. Notice to Spectators Communications about emergencies will be handled as follows: Loudspeaker announcements over the public address system. Megaphone or bullhorn announcements in the event the PA is inoperable. Event personnel/volunteers will canvass the area to advise spectators. This Emergency Plan will be provided, in advance of the event, to each team staff member, volunteer, vendor and subcontractor.
