HomeMy WebLinkAbout20-078WHEREAS California Health & Safety Code Section 13146,4 was added in 20I8, and became effective on September 27,2O18;and, WHEREAS California Health & Safety Code Sections 13146.2 and 13146.3 requires all fire departments, including the Butte County Fire Department, that provide fire protection services to perform annual inspections in every building used asapublic orprivate school, hotel, motel, lodging house, apartment house, and certain residential care fac�i|[tiesfor compliance with building standards, asprovided; and WHEREAS, California Health & Safety Code Section 13146.2 requires all fire departments, including the Butte County Fire Department, that provide fire protection services to report annually to its administering authority on its compliance with Sections 13146.2and 13146.3;and WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors ofthe County ofButte intends this Resolution to fulfill the requirements of the California Health O^ Safety Code regarding acknowledgment of the Butte County Fire Department's ommp,Uamco with California Health and Sections l314G.2and 13146.3;and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby acknowledges the measure ofcompliance ofthe Butte County Fire Department with California Health and Safety Code Sections 13146,2 and 13146.3 imthe, area encompassed bVthe, County ofButte, asfollows: A. EDUCATIONAL GROUP EOCCUPANCIES: Educational Group E occupancies are generally those public and private schools, used bvmore than six persons at any one time for educational purposes through the 12th grade. Within the County ofButte, there are 30 Group E occupancies, buildings, structures and/or facilities. DwhmgFY2019-2O,theDutteCmuntyRreDepmrtmenioomoketedtheamnwa|hmspectiomof19GnnupEoccupa:mcies, buildings, structures and/or facilities. This is a comipliance rate of 63 % for this reporting period. Residential Group Roccupancies, for the purposes ofthis reso�|ution,are generaUly those occupancies containinQ sleeping units, and include hotels, motels, apartments (three units or more), etc. as well as other residential occupancies (including a number of residential care fed|ities). These residential care facilities have a number of different sub- classifications, and they may contain residents or clients that have a range of needs, including those related to custodial ub'cUassificatinnx,mmdtheymaycontainmgsidentsorc|iemtsthathevearamgemfneeds,incUudinQtMQsere|atedtoouotwdia| care, mobility innpeirrnents,cognitive disabilities, etc. The residents may also benon-ambulatory orbedridden. Within the County ofButte, there are 18 Group R(and associated sub -categories) occupancies ofthis nature. During FY2019-20,the Butte County Fire Department completed the annual inspection of 18 Group Roccupancies, buildings, structures and/or facilities. This is a compliance rate of 100% for this reporting period.
