Dear Supervisor Lambert,
As a resident in North Chico, I am very concerned about the traffic
congestion, safety, emergency personnel response times and flooding.
I am aware that North Chico is slated to be developed in the coming
months and years under the North Chico Specific Plan.
Butte County needs to halt development until the County can adequately
address traffic, infrastructure. environmental concerns and flooding issues.
Please do not allow anymore houses to be built out here until it is safe.
Please issue a moratorium on building so that there can be reasonable and
responsible planned growth in North Chico.
We believe Butte County Planning Division is using outdated FEMA maps
to make decisions. FEMA mapping is an insurance tool but should not be
used for planning. Also Butte County needs to require developers to
complete environmental reviews, including a full CEQA.
