Good morning,
I’m excited to announce that I have selected a second Assistant Director for our Public Works
Department. Dan Newton, who has been the Public Works Director for the City of Susanville,
will soon be joining our Department. Dan has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from CSU
Chico, and over 20 years of experience in public sector transportation planning, engineering,
and management of public works. Dan has been licensed as a Registered Civil Engineer since
2009, and has been in responsible charge for much of the City of Susanville’s infrastructure
since that time, including water, gas utilities, and roadways.
Dan’s first day with Public Works will be Monday, March 16, 2020. Dan is replacing Tom
Fossum, who was our Deputy Director, who retired in April of 2019. Please join me in
welcoming Dan into our Department.
