Board Members,
My plan is to send you an update each night on emergency operations and continuity of
operations related to COVID-19. At this point, things are changing so quickly that I cannot
update you in real time, just as I can’t during other emergency situations. If something arises
that needs to get out in the media immediately, I will provide you advanced notice. I
anticipate tonight I’ll be updating you on County operations and closures to the public of
certain facilities, as well as decisions I will have to make prior to getting to your Board on
payroll and leave rules as employees are sent to work remotely or reallocated to support
emergency operations. I appreciate that other counties may be ahead of us in planning and
messaging, as none of them are simultaneously trying to keep Camp Fire Recovery efforts
going too.
I appreciate that you would like more information and sooner, and I will get it to you as fast as
possible. Given that, I appreciate any questions or feedback you are hearing from the public
be sent to meand Danetteat this time. We can then determine if it is a PH response or an
EOC response, and can then delegate it to the appropriate staff until you have a list of who to
go to directly. That way we don’t have multiple staff chasing down answers when we are
already short staffed.
