Miranda FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE th March 19, 2020 COUNTY DEPARTMENTS IMPLEMENT REMOTE OR OFFSITE SERVICES Scientific evidence shows social distancing is one of the most effective approaches to slow the transmission of communicable disease. To that end, the County of Butte is adjusting its public facing operations of various departments. These changes will allow essential services to continue, while protecting the public. If you need to engage with these Departments, it is recommended you do so, remotely, with the correlating contact information. Butte County is committed to serving the community to the fullest extent possible while following recommendations for public safety. The following shows a list of County Departments whose lobbies are closed as of March 18. Services at these sites are continuing with a combination of remote staff and on-site staff. Human Resources: 530.552.3552 or personnel@buttecounty.net Information Systems: 530.552.3200 Library: 530.552.5652. All items have been renewed until April 11, 2020. Administration: Operating as normal. 530.552.3300 Agricultural Commissioner: Operating as normal. 530.552.4100 or butteag@butteccounty.net Auditor Controller: Operating as normal. 530.552.3600 Behavioral Health: Public lobbies are open at this time, but walk-in assessments are not available. Services (new and existing) can be requested via phone at 800.334.6622 or 530.891.2810 Butte County Fire Department: Public lobby is open but they are limiting public access. 530.538.7111 Child Support Services: Public lobby is open as usual, although customers are encouraged that most needs can be met online or by phone. Customer service agents are available at 1.866.901.3212 Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. District Attorney: Operating as normal. 530.538.7411 Employment and Social Services: Public lobby is open, but services can be accessed via online and via phone. Members of the public who must come into the office will be directed to phone banks within the lobby. Child Welfare and Adult Services remain operational for investigations. 877.410.8803 Neal Road Recycling and Waste Facility: Operating as normal. 530.345.4917 Probation: Public lobby is open only for those with urgent business pending (generally Court related matters) that cannot otherwise be rescheduled or handled from a distance.
