Good afternoon,
Just wanted to let the Board know that we will be advertising the Midway Bridge Project next week,
th
we plan to publish the public notices in the Chico Enterprise Record on April 1, April 8 and April 15,
with the bid opening scheduled for April 23, an a plan to bring the award of contract to the Board at
th
the May 12 meeting.
The statewide Shelter in Place Orders add an interesting dynamic to advertising now - but so far our
indications are that all the contractors that have the capability to performing a job like this are still
working, even if their estimators are operating remotely. This project is federally funded, so the
contractors are required to use American steel – so we do not believe the port shutdowns or other
supply chain issues will impact this project – but things are changing quickly, as we have all
witnessed the last several weeks.
Roadway and Heavy Construction projects such as this are specifically exempted from the Governors
Shelter in Place Order.
