It is by no means all inclusive, but provides high-level information. I will be providing this same information to the public during the weekly press conference today. Take care, Shari Shari McCracken Chief Administrative Officer Butte County Administration 25 County Center Drive, Suite 200, Oroville, CA 95965 T:530.552.3305 M: 530.990.5029 ***Please note this is a new phone number and update your records accordingly*** Twitter |Facebook |YouTube |Pinterest Butte County COVID-19 Update from the CAO/EOC Director 3.26.2020 Continuity of Operations Most services remain available, though many are not available in-person. Please check the County's website frequently for updates. Please call before you make a trip in person, so the department can assist you in getting services in the safest way. Signs with contact information are posted on the doors of all closed County buildings. The County is increasing cleaning and sanitizing of high touch, high traffic areas in our facilities that have employees or the public in them. 25 County Center Drive will be closed to the public, effective Friday, March 27, 2020, except for individuals needing to drop off property tax payments. The only public entrance that will be open is the south entrance between the Assessor’s and Treasurer’s Office. Emergency Operations Center Effective 1000 hours Friday, March 27, 2020, we will be physically occupying the County’s EOC. To- date, we have been operating virtually and remotely. Cases are increasing and needs for assistance and resource requests are increasing to the level we need to by physically located. The County has opened a COVID-19 Call Center, to assist in managing and responding to the large number of calls that have been inundating the Public Health Department. The number is 552-3050. Please use it as your first source for information, in addition to 211’s services. 211 continues to provide resource and referral services, and can also answer many of your questions. The County’s COVID-19 Call Center and 211 will be able to refer quarantined or isolated individuals who have no other form of support– whether through family, friends, or other service providers – to the appropriate County service. Please DO NOT call the County Call Center, the Public Health Department, or County Dispatch, to report violations of the State’s Order, whether by individuals or businesses. We continue to encourage voluntary compliance at this time. 1 If peoplefeel compelledto report non-compliancewithin a City or Town’s jurisdiction, please contactthat City or Town, and not the County. Though the State Order is critical to slow the spread of COVID-19, we cannot ignore the substantial economic impacts this will have on our businesses and many of our fellow community members employed by those businesses. The County is working regularly with the our cities and Town, along with community partners that serve businesses, to determine needs and connect businesses with resources as they become available at the federal, state, or local level. The Northern Rural Training and Employment Consortium (NoRTEC) and the Alliance for Workforce Development have established a phone number that businesses can call for information. o The number is 530.616.0563, and it’s available Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm This service can also be reached by email and online chat, and the details are availableonthe County’s home page at www.buttecounty.net. Relative to the Governor’s direction to provide temporary shelter for purposes of quarantine or isolation for certain homeless individuals, the County is working with our local service providers and the Continuum of Care to establish a plan within the limited resources that have been provided by the State. Direction from the State on this matter continues to change on a daily basis. Priority homeless individuals include: Persons over 65 years of age or with chronic health conditions, Persons testing positive who do not need hospitalization but need isolation, and Persons exposed or potentially exposed to COVID-19 who do not require hospitalization and, we are assuming, should self-quarantine To-date, the County and the Continuum of Care, combined, will receive approximately $470,000 dollars to support the priority homeless populations through existing service providers. As the plan comes together the information will be shared. The County, the Continuum of Care, and service providers will apply for additional funding, as it becomes available. For the most current and official information, please check the State’s website at covid19.ca.us, the County’s Public Health website, and the County’s home page for the most official and up-to-date information. 2 Miscellaneous Information We have received many questions surrounding the use of homemade masks. Butte County is not in a position to endorse or support the use of homemade mask, though we really appreciate the offers. We recommend those wishing to donate or use homemade masks reach out to local hospitals or healthcare organizations for guidance. We have heard that some local businesses and manufacturers would like to revamp their operations to support resource needs during the pandemic. We are working with our partners at the local and State level to assist businesses in connecting with the information they need to make their business decisions. 3
