UPDATE: BUTTE COUNTY ANNOUNCES NEW DROP BOX FOR PROPERTY TAX PAYMENTS
Oroville, Calif.—In an ongoing effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19, a payment box has been
established outside 25 County Center Drive to allow residents to drop off property tax payments, by
check or money order, without needing to enter the building. The new drop box is located outside the
South entrance to the building between the Assessor’s office and the Treasurer/Tax Collector’s office.
Beginning Thursday, April 2, 2020, 25 County Center Drive will be completely closed to the public, until
further notice.
Property tax payments can also be made online at www.buttecounty.net/treasurertaxcollector, or by
phone by calling 1.844.882.3391. Please note: there is a flat $4.95 processing fee when paying with a
debit card, or a 2.34% processing fee when paying with a credit card.
Staff remains available to answer telephone calls and email during the closure. Information regarding
Butte County department hours and closures is posted online, please visit www.buttecounty.net for up
to date information.

In an effort to slow the spread of COVID 19, Butte County offices located at 25 County Center Drive, in
Oroville, will be closed to the public starting Friday, March 27, 2020 for the foreseeable future.
