Dear Chairman Lambert and Supervisors,
Butte County was recently informed by Cole Glenwright, Cal OES’s Incident Commander for the State
Hazard Tree Removal Program that the contract for the Tree Assessment phase of the program will
not be awarded. At this time the Request for Proposal (RFP) has been cancelled. You can view the
posting at the following link:
https://www2.calrecycle.ca.gov/Contracts/Advertisement/1790
According to Mr. Glenwright, the RFP will be reissued within the next few weeks along with the
Invitation to Bid (IFB) for the Tree Removal phase of the operation. The County and State’s Hazard
Tree Removal Program continues to move forward with its operations. The County continues to
receive and process enrollment forms and conduct outreach efforts to property owners. The State is
working on its planning efforts seeking Avoidance and Mitigation Measures (AMM) on
environmentally sensitive issues from National Marine Fisheries (NMF) and the National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). COVID-19 guidance and policy aren’t hindering the County’s
ability to operate the Processing and Call Center. There are currently 9,743 parcels in process. 4,854
of those have been submitted to the State with Right of Entry (ROE) forms.
I hope you all have a nice evening. I am available to answer any questions.
Best regards,
Laura Page
