Butte County COVID-19
Total Positive Tests: 13
Total Deaths: 0
Public Health Department Operation Center (DOC)
The DOC ordered equipment to allow COVID-19 testing in Butte County. The DOC expects the
final piece of testing equipment today. It is scheduled for install today. Training for the
equipment is needed and then it must be certified by the State before it is put into use.
Estimated date to start testing is the first part of May.
Two “Abbott ID Now” machines should be delivered to the County today. One for the Public
Health Lab and one for Enloe Hospital. These will be used for priority testing of patients in the
hospital that are suspected of having COVID-19. Use for this priority will get quicker results and
allow for hospital staff to preserve much needed PPE. These are not yet operational, but that is
coming soon.
The DOC published a dashboard for the current COVID-19 cases in Butte County. It is linked
from the Public Health website.
Thanks.
