Board Members,
Please let me know if you have heard issues of degraded services during the COVID-19 emergency,
and I will provide feedback to the CPUC. I know that my Verizon service has been spotty for the past
2 weeks, and frequently drops calls. Have others experienced other issues?
Thanks!
Shari

Hi Shari,
I hope all is well with you and Butte County during these challenging times.
I wanted to reach out because, during the COVID-19 State of Emergency, communications
companies are required to provide reliable service and other emergency provisions. We are
currently gathering information about outages or degraded communications service (wireless
or landline) in California during this State of Emergency.
Communications companies are required to continue to provide reliable service, especially
when it is critical to the health and safety of Californians. I've attached a letter from the CPUC
that states the standards communications companies are required to meet during this time.
We would like to hear from local agencies or community groups to learn more about your on-
the-ground experiences with communications successes or failures during this emergency
situation.
If you or anyone you know has experienced issues, you or they can share this information with
us by:
Sending us an email with information about communications outages or degraded
service in the communities you represent, including 1) the date and location of the
communications issue, 2) the telephone or wireless provider who's service caused
problems, 3) the amount of time this issue lasted for, and 4) the impact this issue had
on your community and your agency.
If you are interested in speaking with us directly, please let me know and we can set up a time
to meet by phone. Thank you for your time!
Best,
Kate Beck
