UPDATE ON THE CENTERVILLE ROAD REPAIR PROJECT
Butte County, Ca – Work started on the Centerville Road Storm Damage Repair Project during the week of April 13,
2020. The Contractor plans to initiate construction of the Soldier Pile Wall beginning on Thursday, April 23 and
Friday, April 24. During this two day time period, the amount of heavy equipment necessary to accomplish the
drilling work will require restricted access on Centerville Road. Under the contract terms, the Contractor is allowed
no more than 12 working days during the course of this project that they can close the roadway to all traffic for
specific times of the day.
The roadway operation schedule for Thursday, April 23 and Friday, April 24 is planned as follows:
Midnight to 8am Roadway open to all traffic, expect less than 15 minute delays
8am to 10am Roadway closed to all traffic
10am to 10:30 am Road open to all traffic, expect less than 15 minute delays
10:30am to 12pm Roadway closed to all traffic
12pm to 1pm Roadway open to all traffic, expect less than 15 minute delays
1pm to 2:30pm Roadway closed to all traffic
2:30pm to 3pm Roadway open to all traffic, expect less than 15 minute delays
3pm to 4:30pm Roadway closed to all traffic
4:30pm to midnight Roadway open to all traffic, expect less than 15 minute delays
The Contractor has placed a changeable message board sign near the intersection of Honey Run Road and
Centerville Road, and will post updates to this schedule if there are planned changes. Butte Creek Canyon residents,
delivery/solid waste collection services, bicyclists and others with plans to travel into this area are encouraged to
plan their schedules around these planned closures, to minimize the congestion, and allow the Contractor the
opportunity to get this critical work completed.
Plans are being made to accommodate emergency vehicle traffic such as Fire, EMS and Butte County Sheriff’s
Office, and every effort will be made to allow emergency traffic through the work zone with a minimal amount of
delay.
All work is being performed in strict conformance with State and Local COVID-19 social distancing rules and hand
sanitization guidelines, with the goal of keeping the County’s critical infrastructure projects moving forward.
