During the period of the upgrade, services will be intermittent. Activation and testing of the connections necessitates periodic outages. Information Systems and the PIO developed messaging to inform the public in advance via the County website, Facebook and Twitter platforms. The improved Oroville connection is already contributing heavily toward keeping business processes moving forward. VPN This week we saw more than 530 staff online at the same time. Each workday presents an additional 10 to 15 staff members active on the VPN connections during business hours. Radio The BRICS radio system has been in operation for over two weeks. Radio reception in the north end of the county is better than advertised. The south end of the county is experiencing some reduced radio reception in areas covered by the Flea Mountain location. This site is still a work in progress. The audio quality is reported to be very clear. The clarity is so good that we have staff requesting to onboard to the system early. Information Systems team is monitoring overall system operations and addressing issues as they arise. LTE Wireless More than 1300 lines of service in operation. 5 new lines of service activated this week 32 new lines of service requested this week. The request will be fulfilled early next week.
