HomeMy WebLinkAboutB19-2741 CF Variance Request August 27, 2019 John Gaddie, Fire Captain CAL Fire-Butte County Fire Department 176 Nelson Avenue Oroville, CA, 95965 RE: 5943 Fern Glenn Way 064-620-022 B19-2741 Captain Gaddie, The California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection SRA Fire Safe Regulations Section1270.08, allows us to request a variance for property listed above to the authority having jurisdiction. Please consider my request for a variance per the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection SRA Fire Safe Regulations section 1276.01. Section 1276.01(a) states: That for parcel one acre and larger, a minimum 30 foot setback for buildings and accessory buildings is required and Section 1276.01(b) states: For parcels less than 9 acre, the local jurisdiction shall provide for the same practical effect. I have attached a proposed site plan providing additional detail to clarify the requested variance. On the attached site plan, I have installed a new metal storage shed that would be placed 10 feet from the east property line. The shape of the property and the previous building shed site made it the only choice for placing a new structure. To mitigate fire concerns, I have provided 200 feet of defensible space for the length of our property and to the properly lines for the width of our property. I do thoroughly understand and have great appreciation for defensible space and will ensure that this proposed variance does not present an additional fire hazard or risk to my property.
