WHEREAS, the communities, ofK4agaKia, Lovelock, W|rnshevvand Stirling City /°UpperR|dge"\ have organized
themselves as the Upper Ridge Community Council ("Council") for the purpose of representing the Upper Ridge
communities onCounty issues; and
WHERE&� the Upper Ridge defines itself as e|| properties falling either wholly or partially into the 95954 and
95978 zip codes as defined by the United States Postal Service; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the Upper Ridge Community Council is to advocate for the preservation and enhancement
of the quality of life on the Upper Ridge; and
WHEREAS, the Upper Ridge Community Council shall provide a means for Upper Ridge residents to have input on
matters that impact the quality oflife such aspublic health and safety, wild fire safety, forest management, transportation,
water quality, land use, and recreation; and
WHEREAS, the Upper Ridge Community Council may represent the Upper Ridge to any agency or entity on any
matters concerning the Upper Ridge; and
WHEREAS, nine residents have volunteered to serve as the Executive Committee of the Upper Ridge Community
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Butte County recognized the Upper Ridge
Community Council as representative of the commiunities of the Upper Ridge, as defined in this resolution; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that County departments shall take all reasonable steps to provide information and
make representations to the Upper Ridge Community Council on aN County -related, community -wide issues, upon a
request from the Upper Ridge Community Council; and
8E[TFURTHER RESOLVED, that County departments shall take all reasonable steps to communicate with the
Upper Ridge Community CounciUregarding community -wide issues that arise iothe area represented bvthe Upper Ridge
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors, this 15th day of September, 2020, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors, Lucero, Ritter, Teeter, and Chair Lambert
NOES: Supervisor Connelly
